Hello Hello

As one Fashion Week ends and another begins, it gives the modelling industry a chance to show off their latest signings – and to place bets on who will become the next ‘it girl’. More than just an exercise in testing the fashion waters, getting it right can mean the difference between an agency having a good year, or a disastrous one.
Fashion is truly the international language, as models from around the world converge on New York, London, Paris and Milan. Website www.modelinia.com has highlighted a few names of interest, with Dutch girls Mirte Maas and Patricia van der Vliet doing well at Prada, Sweden’s Frida Gustavsson opening the Valentino Couture show and Morocco’s Hind Sahli also commanding some serious attention. With all this activity, standing out from the crowd is no easy task.
But someone who is already doing that on the Autumn / Winter 2010 runways, is New Jersey native, Jacquelyn Jablonski. Born in 1992, Jacquelyn holds the distinction of being a 2008 finalist at Ford’s Supermodel of the World competition.
Ford saw potential in Jacquelyn, and signed her aged 15. After a brief respite finishing her high-school education, Jablonski returned to the runway in 2009 in a breakthrough season featuring appearances for Gucci, Prada, Lanvin, Thakoon, and Balenciaga.
This January, Jacquelyn worked the couture runways for Chanel and Valentino (plus modelling for the Chanel look book which was photographed by Karl Lagerfeld himself), and this season has brought Jablonksi an incredible list of catwalk credits to add to her CV.
Jacquelyn has to date walked for Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen, Proenza Schouler, Calvin Klein, Jason Wu, Rag & Bone, Derek Lam and Michael Kors. As far as Ford is concerned, Jacquelyn’s run of extraordinary success is merely a promise fulfilled. 2010 promises to be a very good year for Ford, as the all-American girl from New Jersey goes global, and fashion crowns its newest superstar.
